ARP
- an artistic research project exploring post consumer textiles
The aim for this research project was to find strategies and explore techniques on how to incorporate post-consumer textile waste into Stina Randestad’s design practice.
The concept was to treat garments as raw materials, disregarding its original shape or type of usage. By combining different materials through certain techniques - new purpose, value and expression is created.
The result is a library of material swatches and gained knowledge that will function as a rehearsal for her future work.
To start with the materials point of view, is to free oneself from the original shape, fit and volume one particular garment has. Working in this way can lead to new ideas and aesthetics.
Project was supported by talent platform New Order of Fashion and Creative Industries Fund NL
